Online shopping beats going to the mall to shop for the following reasons.

No bags to lug around. Everything you buy can be delivered right to your doorstep.
No jostling with the crowd. You shop from the comfort of your home - or desk
No pesky salespeople following you around, pressurizing to you buy what you don't want. You can take your time to browse around and leave the store empty handed if nothing catches your fancy. No glares, no pressure, total freedom.
No long queues to pay up. I remember queueing up for almost 3 hours to buy some designer clothes at a sale. Here, you can pay up the moment you decide what to buy.

You have to be careful though.

Protect yourself when you buy online. When you hit the check out button, you should be in a secure environment. There should be a little key at the bottom of your screen. At very least, at some time of your purchase, you should be sent to a secure area where you enter your credit card number.

Personally, I always pay by credit card. In these online transactions, the customer is protected. If the goods never arrive, you can contact the credit card company to get them to help you get your money back. Mine did when a web host I used disappeared, after I paid for 1 year's hosting. That was a really nasty experience, but my credit card company got back my money for me.

Here at shopping Suzy, I feature stores which I trust. Either they are with networks I trust, or they are run by reputable people. There is some accountability there. At least, personally, I'd buy from these stores if they ship to where I live.

Another thing, when it comes to furniture, ever considered shopping online instead?

You know how it is when you drive for hours to the furniture store, found something you like, then realize you forgot to take the measurements of the room that table (or whatever furniture of furnishing) is going to be put in. You could hazard a guess there and then, struggle with the crowds, queue for hours then struggle fitting that into your car (or you could surrender and pay the delivery charges). Beat the traffic. Drive for hours and then find that the table, cupboard, whatever is too big or too small.

Or you could take your time to drive for hours back home, measure the room, then spend a few more hours driving to the store, only to find that the particular item you wanted is all sold out.

This has happened to me and many others and it can be infuriating.

The online alternative?

Go to an online store to buy furniture.

Browse around, see something you like. Go to the room where you want to put it in and give the room a good hard look. Think it will fit the color scheme?

Take your tape measure and measure the space for that piece of furniture, or furnishing. Go to the computer and check the measurements of what you want. If it fits, then go ahead and make your purchase.

No waiting in the queue.
No traffic jams.
No carrying of heavy furniture to the line, to the car whatever.
Just wait for them to deliver your purchase right to your doorstep.
